Industry Involvement

Phillippa Jacobs served on the Industries Board of the Design & Arts College of New Zealand from 2009 to 2011. In 2014 was a member of the judging panel for the Yoobee School of Design ‘Public Art Competition’.

Charities

Phillippa and the team at Mega Advertising are proud of their contributions of time and creative work to many other charities on an ad hoc basis, as and when called upon. Some include www.clowndoctors.org.nz ; www.heartstringsnz.co.nz; Rotary kids’ magic shows; Lions’ kids’ picnics. Scouting New Zealand has been the recipient of the Mega team’s time and skills for many years. Endometriosis New Zealand is an organisation close to Phillippa’s heart – she regularly supports this worthy cause with sharp design prices and loads of personal involvement.

Pay It Forward

Mega Advertising’s most recent sponsorship involves working with the Paying it Forward initiative that promotes Random Acts of Kindness in support of the fight against breast cancer and Ronald McDonald House (childhood cancer). ‘Random Acts of Kindness Day’ on 1 September is an opportunity to randomly spread happiness and goodwill. Phillippa and her team were delighted to design the logo and website for this worthy organisation because its values are in line with those of Mega.

As a successful woman in business Phillippa Jacobs believes it’s vital to speak up for women around the world who’re unable to speak up for themselves.
Phillippa has been a member of Zonta since 2006; from 2007 to date she’s chaired the ‘Z’ Club committee; in 2010/11 she was the president of the Christchurch chapter; since 2012 she’s been president of ‘Z’ Club New, helping to increase youth membership of the club from 23 to 200+ throughout New Zealand.

How does Mega Advertising contribute to the mission of Zonto and ‘Z’ Club? With donated design time for websites, invitations, banners and other promotional items. Phillippa is also very involved in fundraising events. On a Monday Phillippa usually dashes around town collecting provisions before cooking up delicious charity meals with the ‘Z’ Club members at Avonside Girls’ High School.
