Wendy's... cold fries & bad signs!
What is the experience you give your customers like?
My partner has two wonderful boys, and just before the ChCh earthquake in Feb, I took them to the newish Wendy's burgers place in Hereford street.
We waited in the line for so long, possibly 30+ mins. As being a popular spot sometimes it is just worth the wait! And the wait didn't, seem to matter to the very excited 7 and 9 year old boys. They had never been to Wendy's before, so this was hugely important and exciting moment (especially as we don't do take always too often) to check out the new burger place in town.
When we finally got to the front, first thing was even though I had 39 year old eyes, so perhaps needing an eye check, we realized the print was so small on the board that really no one could read. Not even the young kids. So anyway we semi guessed what we were ordering.
When the excited boys got to the car - yes the five minute park we chose across the street, as we were only popping in for "fast " food, much to the boys surprise the fries were very cold. The highlight of getting this food was now a very disappointing experience. And it was mentioned even though the burgers were way better than McDonalds it was in fact the fries that made them not want to go back! such a simple thing to get right.
Funny thing the other day, so eight plus months later, one of the kids asked me, have I contacted Wendy's yet about their signs, as Phill, they need the Mega touch! Great how kids perceive things and remember, we can learn so much through young eyes can't we!
